Graphics Training: The standard way

Chapter 1: Introduction

Graphics are often used in applications to symbolise a command or action, for example, a toolbar button may show the image of a blank document to inform the user that selecting this button will open a new document.

In many cases such graphics are supported by a text description in the form of a tooltip or there is an equivalent menu item or hot key that can be used instead of clicking on the graphic. However, this is not always the case and for this reason Hal and Supernova’s graphics training feature may help you improve accessibility to an application.

In this tutorial we will explain the different steps to train graphics for those users running the Standard version of Hal and Supernova. Users running the Professional version will be able to use additional tools available in mapping and should refer to the support documentation that accompanies there software for assistance.

So, what can a user running the Standard version of Hal and Supernova do?

Well, of course, they can contact Dolphin’s mapping department (maps@dolphinuk.co.uk) and request a map for the target application. But this can take time that may not be immediately available.

Therefore, and for an immediate solution, graphics training might just offer an answer.
