Application Specific Settings

Chapter 1: Introduction

If you find yourself changing the settings in Supernova, Hal, LunarPlus or Lunar when you change between applications then you could find application settings files a more viable and effective solution.

Application settings files allow you to save the settings used in a given application and have these settings automatically applied when the application has the focus. In fact, when you make changes to your settings in Supernova, Hal, LunarPlus or Lunar, you are already making changes to an application settings file. It just happens to be the default application settings file!

In this tutorial we will list the simple steps to create an application settings file, create situation settings and review how these files are managed.

Note: if a network version of Hal, Lunar, LunarPlus or Supernova is installed then all personal settings will not be saved until the settings directory location is set. See the Network Installation instructions in the support documentation for further details.
